Griffith Collaborative Group Surgical Center
We are proud to announce that Dr. Paul's IV and Sedation Surgery Center has opened its doors! The Griffith Collaborative Group Surgical Center has opened next door in Suite #118.
WHY SEDATION DENTISTRY?
Dentists sometimes encounter certain conditions or special circumstances
which are best treated under sedation. These include: 1) Patients who
don't have time for numerous dental appointments; 2) Patients who put
off needed treatment because of fear or apprehension; 3)Complex cases
requiring a multi-discipline approach; 4) Patients who have mental or
physical handicaps that cannot be readily treated in a contemporary
dental office; 5) Patients who have serious medical conditions that are
more safely treated in a hospital under the supervision of a medical
team.
CONVENIENCE:
There are times when it is simply more convenient for people with busy
schedules, urgent commitments or extensive travel plans to have all of their
dental treatment done in our surgery center. In many situations, it is possible to
have comprehensive treatment including all phases of dentistry completed in
one short session.
PATIENT APPREHENSION:
A visit to the dentist causes a great deal of fear and apprehension for many
patients. Sometimes so much that they putt off dental treatment much longer
than they should. In our surgical suite, where general anesthesia is
administered and monitored by trained anesthesiologists, these patients can
have dental treatment performed with maximum speed, safety and comfort.
HANDICAPPED
Due to physical or mental handicaps, it is not always possible for some
patients to be treated in their dentist's regular office. There may be
problems with patient cooperation or inadequate access to facilities or
equipment. Because we are specially designed for handicapped patients, our
surgical center and El Camino Hospital can help dentists more easily care for
patients with these conditions.
MEDICAL RISK
Some people needing treatment have serious medical problems that require
special precautions to be taken while treatment is being completed. Patients
with conditions such as diabetes, pulmonary disease, chronic heart conditions,
kidney problems and others are in this category. Special equipment and staff
found only in a hospital may be necessary for their safe treatment. Dentists
with hospital experience know what kinds of conditions require hospitalization
for treatment and will advise you accordingly.
The GCG is the result of Dr. Griffith's 25 years of experience serving the
special needs of dental patients that have had limited choices for care. Dr.
Griffith understands how to bring together the different medical and dental
services needed for optimum patient care. This collaborative group of
dedicated dentists and physicians use their individual healing arts to bring
wonderful changes in our patient's health and self-esteem.
